Future Fables

An Architectonic Sculpture,Found Rubbles, Metal

In the contest of chaos, where nature weeps, a tale of debris, in silence it seeps.
Climatic disasters, with fury they roar, leaving a trail of destruction, on every shore.
Wars waged with anger, a relentless fight, cities were reduced to rubble, swallowed by night.
Debris of dreams, shattered and torn, in the aftermath, a world forlorn.
Mountains of trash, an unsightly mound, consuming the Earth, like a relentless hound.
Plastic seas and polluted air, a legacy of neglect, we're forced to bear.

Future Fables" represents a pioneering art installation delving into the intricate transformation of modern urban environments and addressing the profound impact of wars and natural disasters.

This project synthesizes sculpture, interactive technology, and community involvement, aiming toconfront the pressing issues of our time. Inspired by the constant expansion of cities and the resultant surplus of concrete debris and construction waste, the project sheds light on the environmental, cultural, and political facets of our ever-evolving urban landscapes. The primary material for this sculpture consists of repurposed concrete and construction waste collected from local sites of demolitions.

By reimagining these discarded materials, Galhotra underscores the environmental consequences of uncontrolled urban expansion, as well as the debris resulting from conflicts and natural disasters, positioning them as symbolic materials of ourera. The sculpture takes the form of a substantial, cylindrical structure (24-feet in diameter) meticulously crafted from repurposed materials. Its exterior mirrors the facade of contemporary urban structures, reflecting society's fascination with novelty and ownership. However, a closer look reveals the fragile and fractured nature of these blocks, symbolizing the vulnerability inherent in our modern existence.

"Future Fables" is dedicated to principles of sustainability and upcycling, encouraging a departurefrom rampant consumerism by showcasing the artistic potential of discarded materials. The work features an interactive platform with screens, enabling visitors to record their voices and engage in dialogues on topics such as urban development, sustainability, and environmental concerns. This interactive space catalyzes community engagement and introspection. The success of "Future Fables" hinges on collaborations with the audience, incorporating diverse perspectives and expertise to enhance the conceptual depth and execution of the artwork. The primary goal of "Future Fables" is to stimulate discourse and contemplation on humanity's impact on the planet in the Anthropocene epoch. Through the transformation of construction waste and discarded materials into art, the project challenges existing norms and encourages viewers to adopt a more mindful approach to consumption.
